Rubus cockburnianus 'Razzle Dazzle'

Since its inception in 1984, Broken Arrow Nursery has introduced numerous garden-worthy plants into the horticulture world. We are probably best known for the wonderful Kalmia latifolia cultivars (over 30) that owner, Dick Jaynes, has hybridized over the past 50 years. Some of the best include ‘Carol’, ‘Elf’, ‘Keepsake’, ‘Minuet’, and ‘Sarah’. Additional woody plants that we’ve introduced include ‘Cletha alnifolia ‘Ruby Spice’, Hamamelis virginiana ‘Harvest Moon’, Ilex verticillata ‘Sunsplash’ and ‘Pinus strobus ‘Little Giant’. This year we are very excited to introduce another exceptional plant, Rubus cockburnianus ‘Razzle Dazzle’. What set this selection apart from the species is its striking variegated foliage, mottled pink, cream, and gold throughout the growing season. Be one of the first to grow this exciting new bramble.

Cornus mas 'Aurea'

Not to be missed this spring is Cornus mas ‘Aurea’, with its vibrant, gold-foliaged form that creates a grand spectacle when the color grabs all onlookers. Generous amounts of bright red, thumb-sized, edible fruit and a mosaic of gray, cream and brown bark provide added seasonal interest. With over 25 hybrid magnolias to choose from, Magnolia x ‘Galaxy’ is an extraordinary, upright-pyramidal selection from the US National Arboretum. Striking, 6-10”, beet-red flower buds open reddish-purple in late spring after danger of frost.

Glaucidium palmatum var leucanthum

We offer many spring woodland perennials such as trilliums, anemones, and Japanese wood poppies. Glaucidium palmatum var. leucanthum is a beautiful white flowering form of the Japanese wood poppy. Large palmate leaves emerge in early spring on 2’ plants followed by showy 3” blossoms.
